Calming Anxiety
I Just Need a Moment to Breathe — A 10-Minute Meditation to Let Go, Relax and Find Your Calm
No theme today. Nothing to fix, nothing to overcome, nothing to figure out before you're allowed to feel better. Just ten minutes to sit, breathe, and reconnect with all that you are. If you've been carrying a lot and simply need a moment to breathe, let go and relax, this guided meditation is exactly that — a quiet reset, with nowhere you need to get to.

Hi there, and welcome to calming anxiety. I'm Martin your host, I'm a clinical hypnotherapist. Before that, a paramedic, and all these sessions, they're just me, healing my younger soul. And I hope they help you too. Today, there's no theme, there's nothing to do, there's nothing to overcome. We're just going to sit, breathe together and reconnect with all that we are. So find your quiet place today, somewhere company, somewhere you won't be disturbed for a while if possible, and you can sit, call I down, whichever you prefer. So let's reconnect mind, body and soul. If it's safe, just close your eyes, and now focus on the almost hypnotic rhythm of the rise and form of each in every breath. Feel as you breathe in the way your rib cage rises, expands, drawing deep within the space of your lung, every life giving breath, truly, take a moment to appreciate where you are. Then with every outrest, open your mind to the always there natural feeling of release, of unwinding. As all the small muscle fibers, they loosen, they unwind and lengthen.
With every outrest now, if you can, just imagine your consciousness being softly cradle, as you drift deeper and deeper and deeper still into a natural, trance like state. Relax now, out breath of the out breath with every heartbeat, with every word I say. Maybe find one area on your chest and focus on that completely, and just notice the difference, the subtle shift and sensation between in and out breath, and now, imagine a color, a small aura of light around the area, whatever color you choose, or be perfect just for you. With every outrest, imagine this small spot of light, this glow, increasing in intensity, in size. With every outrest, this aura of comfort, of care, it grows outwards, spreading to cover your entire chest, a warm release of energy. Now imagine it cascading outwards, to flow through your shoulders and down your arms. To cascade further through your stomach, your hips down both the legs, to the very soles of your feet, and to flow upwards through the muscles of your neck, your shoulders, over the crown of your head, with every outrest, this aura of comfort and calm covers you completely. You are relaxed and protected as you reunite mind, body and soul, and love all that you are. On the next few out breaths, just imagine a smile on your face, just small subtle. Feel that shift in emotion as you do, no matter how dark your day may be. Practice this small act of self-love, breathe out and smile and allow yourself to float further and further down. Relax deeply and peacefully. And within this space of gratitude and self-worth, visualize these wonderful, simple words of forgiveness of acceptance. Repeat them in your thoughts if you wish, or simply allow them to land somewhere in your subconscious. So relax, unwind, imagine and repeat. I am worthy of love and peace exactly as I am. I choose to cherish the quiet moments when I allow balance back into all that I am. I forgive the mistakes and regrets of my past and I move forward now with positivity and hope.
Further and further, you continue to drift. Relax at peace, a new sense of clarity and understanding flowing through the monologue of your thoughts. Relax my friend, truly and then once more in the beauty of your mind's eye. Imagine and repeat. I am worthy of love and peace exactly as I am. I choose to cherish the quiet moments when I allow balance back into all that I am. I forgive the mistakes and regrets of my past and I move forward now with positivity and hope and still deeper and deeper. Feel your body now with your mind, baby, your feet, your thighs, your shoulders appreciate this vessel that carries your beautiful mind and truly forgive the mistakes of your past. We all make them and embrace today the future and all of your potential because simply put, you are worthy and to take this sense of balance with you to the rest of your life. Here are your three daily caring tips. One, when you look in the mirror, love that reflection, you are unique. Two, promise to smile often to practice this simple act and make your life whole once more. Three, bring kindness to the world around you. Understand others are going through their troubles too and become a beacon of hope in all that you are. Now slowly bring your awareness back into the space around you. Breathe in deeply, hold at the top and as you breathe out, roll those shoulders, stretch out the arms, wiggle your fingers and toes and when you are softly open your eye. Thank you for putting your faith, your trust in all that I do. I'm Martin. I'm a recoverer and childhood PTSD. I live with DID and I embrace my uniqueness and I truly hope you embrace all that you are. Let those mistakes go. Look forward to tomorrow.
Understand mistakes will happen again, there will be setbacks, it's part of being human. But this time your bounce back quicker, more focused, more ready to understand and accept you for all that you are. Have a lovely day my friend. Smile positive thoughts and then above everything to yourself be kind.
