Calming Anxiety
Why Can't I Stop Anxious Thoughts - 10 Minute Daily Guided Meditation for Panic and Anxiety
Why can't I stop anxious thoughts? It is one of the most exhausting questions there is — the loop that starts on its own, runs all day, and picks up again the moment the room goes quiet. This is Calming Anxiety: ten minutes of daily guided meditation to help you take back control over panic and anxiety.
Today is about learning that the thoughts are not you. We settle into the almost hypnotic rhythm of your own breathing — the rise and fall, the small pause between the in breath and the out — and then, on every exhale, a spreading aura of light moving out from the chest through every fibre of your being, through every thought and every memory. From there, a set of affirmations built around one truth: your anxious thoughts do not define you. If you would like this and more always with you, in your pocket for when those moments hit hardest, Anchored has everything from over 2,500 shows — searchable, downloadable, with Instant Calm always on and baked into the code, to use as often as you need.

Now find your quiet place, somewhere company where you won't be disturbed to sit or lie down whichever you prefer, and if it's safe, close your eyes.
And with your beautiful mind, my friend, expand your awareness and connect, explore, and be aware of the simple rise and form of each and every breath. The almost hypnotic motion of your breathing. As you inhale, to be aware of the subtle shift of sensation as your rib cage expands and rises. To take note for the pause between the in and the out breath, and then as you breathe out, open your mind to the beauty of release, of unwinding, of relaxing, truly, deeply.
With every out breath, focus completely on this beautiful sensation of unwinding.
Imagine that feeling, like an aura of light, spreading outwards from your chest, to cascade through every fiber of your being, through every thought, through every memory.
Out breath after out breath. And relax and unwind, deeply and safely within the sanctuary of your consciousness, floating further and further down, deeper and deeper and deeper now.
So that within the beauty of your imagination, you grow and strengthen resilience, able to stop the anxious thoughts when they arrive, because simply put, you are worthy and in control.
Now breathe in, hold, breathe out and relax, deeply, safely, honoring yourself today with this gift of time to heal, to reset, to find true balance within all that you are.
Deeper and deeper, you allow yourself to find a common sense of clarity, of balance within the monologue of your thoughts. And within this moment of true peace, of acceptance and understanding, visualize these words as I say them, repeating them either silently without moving your jaw, your tongue or your lips, or speaking them out loud in true affirmation. So relax, unwind, imagine and repeat. I am in control of all that I think and feel.
My anxious thoughts do not define me.
I let go of the negative anchors of my past.
I am strong enough to stop the anxious moments whenever they appear.
I no longer allow the negative actions of others to affect me and my tomorrow.
And still, ever deeper, you unwind, you learn to love once more all that you are, forgiving the mistakes of your past that we all may. And then once more, with every out breath, with every moment of calm, imagine and repeat, I am in control of all that I think and feel.
My anxious thoughts do not define me.
I let go of the negative anchors of my past.
I am strong enough to stop the anxious moments whenever they appear.
I no longer allow the negative actions of others to affect me and my tomorrow.
And simply be now as if waitless and timeless within the beauty of your soul with every out breath, intimately connect with all that you are to embrace and use a new way of thinking with clarity, acceptance, with love and conviction. And to carry this with you for the days, the weeks and the months ahead, here are today's three daily caring tips. One, forgive your past mistakes and take with you only the lessons learned. Two, whenever stress or panic comes your way, take two deep, slow in breaths through the nose, pause and then breathe out slowly to regain your control and composure.
And three, other people's actions and opinions are theirs and have no reflection or relevance on you, your decisions and your life. Be strong and love all that you are. Now gently bring your awareness back within the space around you. Take a deep breath in and as you do, wiggle your fingers and toes, pause and on the out breath stretch out the muscles in your arms and legs and when you are ready, gently open your eye.
Thank you my friend. Truly, for connecting with yourself with me today and taking back from the throne. This is calming anxiety. I'll be here again with you tomorrow.
